Individual Advocacy is the main service we provide here at DNEC.  The DNEC staff provide advocacy services when individuals with disabilities are having difficulty obtaining benefits, social services, access to public facilities, or when discrimination is taking place in employment, education, or communication.

At DNEC, we follow the Independent Living model rather than the Medical Model.  What this means is:  instead of saying "here, let me help you with that" we say "here, let me give you the tools you need to do that for yourself"!
