Carrie Czerwinski, Community Advocate, has lived in New London County for most of her life.  A certified Reiki practitioner, she is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, holds membership in Alpha Sigma Lambda and MENSA, and is a current Master of Science in English student at Southern Connecticut State University.

Carrie had her first real experience with disability issues after her mother experienced a spinal cord injury in 1993.  Since that time she has been an outspoken advocate for systems change, and joined the team at the Disabilities Network of Eastern CT as the Inclusion Advocate in 2002.  Like many of us, Carrie wears many hats.  She is, currently, the Community Advocate at DNEC and Chairperson of the PAIMI council.  Carrie strongly supports, and works for, the right of any individual, regardless of disability, to choose where and how they live their lives.
